集装箱式柴油发电机组作为一个供电设备，就要考虑电力输出，电缆选择什么样的类型，出线方式又是如何。集装箱内除了柴油发电机组之外还有其它的低压配套设备，设计人员再开始设计时一定要明确这些设备的类型、供电需求等。提前预留市电容量和电力接口，以及控制电缆的借口。

往往为了降低整体集装箱噪音水平，同时为集装箱做更多更好的防护，集装箱降噪箱尺寸做得比较大，通透率就会减少。这样做的后果就是影响整个机组的通风和散热。所以，集装箱式柴发设计时一定要核算清楚整个集装箱进排风阻力，避免超过柴油发电机组冷却系统限值。
